About Interactive Classroom Learning
The classroom segment in the first year comprises three terms, each having 6 credits. The courses in the first year cover the foundation courses in management and sustainable development context. All the courses in the first year will be mandatory. Term I covers the foundation and contextual courses required for analysis, decision making, actions and relations as relevant in management and sustainable development. Terms II and Term III have courses in different functional areas of management and livelihoods enhancing sustainable development interventions.
The classroom component in the second year has two terms (Terms IV and V) each having 6 credits. Terms IV and V have core courses of integrative nature that are mandatory for all PGDM participants and additionally, candidates have to opt for a stream of elective courses offering scope for focused learning.
About 1/3 of the total programme duration will be devoted to exploring opportunities for experiential learning and practical application of knowledge and skills learned in the classroom segments.
One course credit is equivalent to 30 contact sessions of 70 minutes each and requires the participant to put in at least 90-100 hours of work outside the classroom.
