Post-Graduate Programme in Development Management (PDM)

The institute conducted a two-day "Curriculum Review Workshop" at its Udyog Bhawan Campus. Experts from academia, distinguished practitioners and representatives from its associate organisations and supporting agencies were invited to discuss issues such as

  • Roles perceived by DMI Graduates
  • Competencies expected of DMI Graduates
  • Programme Structure
  • Streams of Concentration
  • Remedial Measures to address Students' Weaknesses
  • Introduction of Design Thinking across courses
  • Development of DMI Graduates as Entrepreneurial Leaders

The participants discussed methods for strengthening the post-graduate programme in development management offered by the institute. The forum decided to provide opportunities to students to explore two streams of specialisation within development management.

Shri Anup Mukerji, Chairman of DMI requested the workshop participants to build the curriculum in such a way that the graduates of DMI will have the ability to influence public opinions and policies.Prof. Raju, Director (DMI), emphasised the importance of the statement that an institution is a matter of faith, and urged the workshop participants to blend faith with hope.Prof. Amar Nayak of XIMB added the third need, namely, love, and dwelt on the logic of cooperation.

Mr. Debraj Behera and Mr. Paramveer Singh, consultants from The World Bank, Shri Vishwa Vijay and Ms. Mahua Roy Choudhary from Jeevika, Mr. Sunil Panday and R P Singh from Aga Khan Foundation, Mr. Eklavya Prasad from Megh Pyne Abhiyaan, Dr. S. B. Nadagouda from Digital Green, Shri. Kaushlendra from Samriddhi, Prof. Raghav Rajgopalan and Faculty member of DMI were present to discuss aforementioned topics.
